01 · Assessment
An overseas customer alone does not determine the VAT treatment of an invoice. Goods and services, the customer’s taxable status and the place of supply must be considered separately. Exceptions can apply to the general rules.
02 · Preparation
It is unsafe to assume that every overseas invoice is outside the scope of domestic VAT, or that every service supplied abroad requires OSS registration. Eligibility depends on the transaction and the applicable conditions.
03 · Coordination
Prepare the contract, description of the supply, customer country and status, tax identifiers and circumstances of delivery before consulting your accountant. This guide helps prepare a review; it does not determine the tax treatment of a particular transaction.
